Dagbjört

No comments yet

Here we will be tying the fly Dagbjört Original. Dagbjört Original reminds quite a bit to the Black Gnat patterns and for a good reason. Dagbjört Original is a fantastic fly when it comes to fish for both arctic char and brown trout here in Iceland. The best results you get fishing the fly is to fish the fly right under the surface by stripping it short and fast. The Dagbjört original is simple to tie and totally worth to keep few in your box when go fishing. It's gonna amaze you how effective this pattern is.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher was updated to a new publishing system early March 2025, and there may still be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
