
The Blackout Kluting is a very generic, shrimpy or fry-like pattern, originally tied for the first time during an afternoon with a blackout. No power, no computers. Just coffee and fly tying.

For the original pattern I used tinsel to secure the strip. The flies shown above aren't that large, and I have omitted the tinsel, but for a good looking fly I would recommend rib. The zonker strip tends to sag when it gets wet.

One question when tying this: The tyinginstruction mentions silver tinsel. Is this for ribbing the zonkerstrip "matukastyle"?
