The Global FlyFisher

Simply the Best Place to go for Online Fly Fishing and Fly Tying
Apr 19. 2018

So, spring conquered winter in large parts of the northern hemisphere… at long last! We haven’t had a hard winter here in Denmark, but it’s been cold and wet, and people have been longing for sun and blue sky.

That we have now, and I’m personally celebrating the coming of spring by leaving for a week-long fishing trip. This is a tradition that I have had with a bunch of friends, leaving for a week of coastal fishing in the Baltic once every spring and every autumn.

I personally fish less on these trips than I used to. I spend a lot of time just enjoying myself and also spend a lot of time tying flies, taking pictures and writing articles. I even do some development work on the site, and the latest major redesign of the Global FlyFisher was actually done for most part on one of these trips.

So I’m going to be enjoying spring, and you can do the same if you are north of equator. On the opposite side of earth you can enjoy autumn, and in both hemispheres you can enjoy a bunch of new articles and videos on the site.

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher was updated to a new publishing system early March 2025, and there may still be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
